Like zines, there are APAs that target every genre, some even sub-genre:\n\nAnimationAPAs\nComicbookAPAs\nRoleplayingGameAPAs\nMusicAPAs\n

For the deadline, a member creates their own newsletter, and makes copies either as many as decided for each APA or as many as they wish above that number. These copies are sent to the DistributionManager (DM, or Central Mailer/CM). In turn the DM/CM will take a copy of each zine to make a complete volume, adding covers and likely a table of contents and editorial. They then ship a copy of this complete volume back to the members.\n\nComicopia is currently set for 20 copies, and currently has room for more members!\n\nIf there are more people interested in contributing than there are member slots, the extras form the WaitingList. If members fail MinAc, then members from the WaitingList will be invited to take over. \n\nOn the WaitingList they can still contribute, but it isn't required, and they might not get a copy.

A comicbook [[APA]] founded in 1990 by JeffreyAllanBoman. In 1998, he passed on to MikeAragona the full title of DistributionManager (Mike had been so in all but name since issue 5, really) and since then the [[APA]] has thrived. For nearly 2 years it was truly international w2ith 3 members in the UK, several in the US and 1 in Puerto Rico. As of 2006 it still has American and Canadian members (it was initially created in Montreal), and may be international again... that's the nature of an [[APA]]!

DC Comics foolishly stopped the practice of letter columns in 2004. LOC is an abbreviation for Letter Of Comment. Like MCs (Mailing Comments) in an APA, these are often the meat and potatoes of a good zine.

Short for 'fanzines'. Usually newsletters mailed to either people who pay for sample issues, or people who've given [[The Usual]] (such as written a [[LOC]].\n\nThere are many different ZineGenres.

Short for "fan magazine". Based on the genre, it may have fiction, commentary, and a letter of comment (LOC) section.\n\nNote: 'fan magazine' is short for 'fanATIC magazine'. That word has very negative connotations, so understandably it isn't mentioned too often.

This can often be the sub-gen re for many types of zines. This is a mashup of "general interest zine". Rather than dealing with one specific topic, genzines cover a wide range of subjects in a theme.\n\nThe other zine I'm a member of (Alexiad)may be comsidered this... a large portion of this zine tends to be reviews of books, many of them historical non-fiction. This variety can actually exist in many genres. 'Perzine' is short for 'personal zine' - the editor mostly talks about themself in their own material.
